Nominate a City Employee Environmental Champion
February 14, 2007
Employees to be recognized in a special Earth Day celebration on April 20.
Do you know a City and County of Denver employee who is working to advance the Mayor's Greenprint Denver initiative through innovations or improvements in city practices, resource conservation, waste prevention or pollution reduction?
Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2006 Environmental Champion Awards, a special Earth Day recognition of City and County of Denver employees who produced environmental benefits and economic savings for the city during the past year.
Nominees must be City and County of Denver employees or teams who championed the environment, demonstrated leadership, found solutions or made contributions in 2006 to advance the city's commitment to a sustainable future where people and nature thrive.
Nominations are accepted by the public, and the deadline for applications is March 16, 2007. Employees can also nominate themselves, their coworkers, or city teams. The nomination procedure is simple and quick, and the form and instructions are available online.
Award winners will be recognized at the 2007 Earth Day Fair on April 20 at 11:30 a.m. in the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Building atrium, located at 201 W. Colfax Avenue.
The Environmental Champion Awards are made possible by the Denver Department of Environmental Health in partnership with Greenprint Denver. For more information, call 720-865-9033.
